Important Points

Did you know that therapy can:
*decrease stress and irritability
*relieve anxiety
*teach you new skills and how to utilize those skills
*assist you in understanding yourself better
*lift emotions
*ease both physical and emotional pain
as well as help with many other aspects of life. Therapy is not a quick fix. It takes hard work and dedication, and results are not guaranteed. Well, you ask, then why go? Because many people are helped by therapy and many people feel better with the assistance of a trained therapist.

My Background

I have a master’s in social work from Monmouth University, which I obtained in 2001. After receiving my BA in psychology in 1995, prior to receiving my master’s degree, I worked mainly with adults who had some form of chronic mental illness. After I went back for my master’s degree, I decided I would like to broaden my areas of knowledge and began working with children, adolescents and their families. I have been working with this population now for approximately 8 years. In addition to working with teens on life transitions, anxiety, stress, impulse control and behavioral issues,  I also enjoy working with adults on parenting, relationship issues, women's issues and stress management. I have knowledge in various areas of therapy such as anxiety, as well as trauma, and treating victims of domestic violence. I have a passion for helping others and will work hard to assist you.

Making Your First Appointment

My office is located in Ocean, NJ, off of Route 35 North on Sunset Avenue.
It is easily accessible from Routes 35, 36, and 18, as well as the Garden State Parkway.

I schedule appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Times vary based on the day of the week. Please contact me for current schedule openings.

Appointment Details

Appointments are usually 50 minutes in length, on a weekly basis. We will work out a day and a time that best fits into your schedule.  It is best to attempt to keep the same appointment day and time each week to maintain consistency.  Sometimes, situations may arise due to a crisis, sickness, a planned vacation, etc., which may prevent us from meeting. However,  I will make every effort to reserve your agreed upon appointment time.

What To Expect At The First Appointment

At your first appointment you will be given some paperwork to fill out that tells me a little about you, such as a client identification form and an insurance information form (if applicable).  We will also review confidentiality rights, financial agreement and your consent to treatment.  Finally, we will begin the therapeutic process by completing the initial intake at which point we will discuss what brought you to therapy.

I understand that therapy can be challenging, especially if you have never been before. I will do my best to make you feel as comfortable and secure as possible.

Welcome and I look forward to meeting with you.
